All the modern conveniences and a relaxed atmosphere make the Sky Team Lounge a perfect spot to relax ahead of a long haul flight.
I’m greeted by the welcoming service manager, Chatty, at the Sydney lounge. She is friendly and seems to understand what this long haul traveller needs – the WiFi Password and precise directions to the two complimentary massage chairs and the bathrooms.
With a modern fit out, in warm orange, charcoal and grey and quality ambient lighting, so as to not distract from bright wide windows overlooking the tarmac, the lounge is a quiet retreat from the hectic international terminal.
There’s plenty of space to unwind and attentive staff make sure no question goes unanswered.
Full buffet breakfast is served until 11.45am and includes all the essentials, plus more. Fruit, yoghurt and cereal, muffins, biscuits, danishes and even a cheese platter for those who prefer it. The usual full breakfast features scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, baked beans, roast potatoes and for the traveller with an international palette, congee as well.
A coffee machine and Dilmah teas (English breakfast, Earl Grey, Green and Peppermint) means your caffeine fix is well catered to, apple and orange juice boosts the vitamins and the water infused with mint with orange slices is a refreshing option too.
Lunch is a la carte on order and the bar area is well stocked with soft drinks, and a selection of beers, wines and spirits.
Bathrooms are well appointed with enough space in the cubicle to have your bags with you, and there is a shower room available also.
All in all, a very pleasant way to start a journey.
