Itinerary

Day 1 Adelaide
This morning, fly to Adelaide, board the coach and make your way via the Mt Lofty Ranges to the village of Hahndorf, classified as Australia’s oldest surviving German settlement. Enjoy some free time here before heading to the hotel.

Day 2 Adelaide
Exploring the Fleurieu Peninsula,  you'll stop at Willunga Hill lookout for a photo opportunity before making your way to Goolwa. Here, you'll board the Spirit of the Coorong for a 2-hour Murray Mouth cruise. Sit back over a cuppa and listen to an informative commentary as you cruise past the sand dunes separating the river from the Southern Ocean. See beautiful scenery and birdlife, learning the history of the area and the role of the locks in maintaining the river environment. After your cruise, head to the picturesque Horseshoe Bay for lunch, then on to McLaren Vale before returning to Adelaide.

Day 3 The Ghan
This morning, enjoy a city sights tour including North Terrace, home to the city’s most important cultural institutions. Stop at St Peter’s Cathedral and see the spectacular Adelaide Oval and Botanic Gardens. At midday, board The Ghan, one of the great train journeys of the world, bound for Alice Springs. Watch the rolling pastoral lands of South Australia merge into rugged Mallee scrub and marvel as the spectacular Flinders Ranges disappear into the horizon as you make your way north into the Red Centre.

Day 4 Alice Springs
The Ghan makes a two-hour stop in Marla where you will experience a stunning sunrise before continuing on to Alice Springs. Disembarking The Ghan, join your local coach captain and be transferred to your hotel for lunch.

Day 5 Alice Springs
Discover the West MacDonnell Ranges, stopping at Flynn’s Grave before a visit to Ellery Creek Big Hole. Take time at Standley Chasm, renowned for the red rocks, blue skies and white ghost gums. Enjoy lunch at Glen Helen Homestead before departing for Ormiston Gorge and Simpsons Gap.

Day 6 Alice Springs
Today, you'll enjoy the sights of Alice Springs tour, visiting Anzac Hill, a lookout offering spectacular views of the rugged MacDonnell Ranges, followed by a visit to the Pioneer Women’s Hall of Fame located in the former Alice Springs Gaol. Then take a tour and lunch at the Royal Flying Doctor Service before having some free time this afternoon. Tonight, enjoy an authentic bush BBQ celebrating the spirit and grandeur that is the Australian Outback. The evening is spent in the style of an old time cattle camp with a bush balladeer singing timeless Australian songs whilst locals share with you the epic story of their life and survival in this harsh land.

Day 7 Ayers Rock
Leaving Alice Springs, take a leisurely drive stopping first at Erldunda then breaking for a photo stop at Mount Connor. Later, pause for lunch at Curtin Springs Station then continue your journey towards Uluru, arriving at Ayers Rock. This evening, re-board the coach to witness the ever changing colours of Kata Tjuta (The Olgas) at sunset, sipping on sparking wine with canapés – MAGICAL.

Day 8 Ayers Rock
Witness the Field of Light just before sunrise and then watch dawn over Uluru – just magical. Following breakfast back at the hotel, take a walk to the Mutitjulu Waterhole and continue along to the Mala Walk. Enjoy a drive around the base of Uluru, followed by a visit to Uluru-Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre. Your afternoon has you climbing into the saddle for a camel trek, another way to enjoy fabulous views of Uluru and Kata Tjuta. This outback adventure is led by an expert cameleer who shares knowledge of the desert’s wildlife and ecology along the way.

Day 9 Ayers Rock
This morning, experience an aerial view of Australia’s Red Centre during a scenic 25-minute helicopter tour of the famous landmarks Uluru (Ayers Rock) and Kata Tjuta (The Olgas). Enjoy some free time in town to purchase your own lunch before meeting up again to spend the afternoon visiting Maruku Arts for a dot painting workshop. Under the expert guidance of local Indigenous artists, have a go at creating your own dot artwork to take home as a memento of your experience. Tonight, you'll dine under the canopy of the desert night sky at the Sounds of Silence dinner. Your evening offers the best of the Red Centre distilled into four magical hours dining under the starry outback sky. Storytellers share tales as told in the stars as you indulge in sparkling wine and a selection of delectable canapés. Later as the sun sets, feast on a BBQ buffet of authentic Australian delicacies complemented by Australian wines.

Day 10 Ayers Rock
